Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Start Demand's platform and services. By creating an account or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Definitions

• "Platform" refers to the Start Demand web application, APIs, and related services
• "AI Employees" refers to the AI-powered agents available on the platform (e.g. Lucy, Emma, Lily, Alice, William)
• "Workspace" refers to the organisational unit within which you and your team operate
• "Content" refers to any text, images, documents, or data you provide or generate through the platform

2. Account Registration

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to use our services.

3. Subscription & Payments

Access to Start Demand is provided on a subscription basis. Pricing details are available on our pricing page. Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period.

Refunds are not available. As our service is tailored to your business and involves the provision of labour through AI employees, refunds are not offered as standard. Any refund requests are entirely at the discretion of Start Demand Ltd.

Certain features (e.g. Lucy's phone calls) use a coin-based system. Coins are non-refundable and expire if your account is terminated.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' data
• Use AI Employees to generate content that is defamatory, fraudulent, or violates third-party rights
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of our AI models
• Exceed reasonable usage limits or use automated tools to abuse the platform
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation

5. Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you provide to the platform. By using our services, you grant Start Demand a limited licence to process and store your content solely to deliver the services.

AI-Generated Content

Content generated by AI Employees (e.g. social media posts, legal documents, blog articles) is owned by you. However, you are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and ensuring compliance of all AI-generated content before use.

Our Platform

The Start Demand platform, including its design, code, AI models, and branding, is our intellectual property and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws.

6. AI Disclaimers

AI Employees provide suggestions and draft content based on AI models. They are not a substitute for professional advice. Specifically:

• William (Legal Associate) — does not provide legal advice. All documents must be reviewed by a qualified solicitor or attorney
• Lucy (Receptionist) — handles calls based on your instructions but may not interpret every scenario correctly
• Emma & Lily — generate marketing content that should be reviewed before publishing

Start Demand is not liable for decisions made based on AI-generated content.

7. Data & Privacy

Your use of the platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We process data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR where applicable.

8. Third-Party Integrations

The platform integrates with third-party services (e.g. Google Calendar, social media platforms, Stripe). Your use of these integrations is subject to the respective third-party terms. Start Demand is not responsible for the availability or policies of third-party services.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Start Demand shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the platform.

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination & Suspension

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, for any reason, without prior notice and without obligation to provide a reason. You may delete your account at any time through the platform settings. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notification at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction.

13. ICO Registration

Start Demand Ltd is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under registration reference ZB646259. You can verify our registration at ico.org.uk.

14. Referral Programme

Start Demand operates a Refer-a-Friend programme ("Programme") that allows registered users to earn rewards by introducing new subscribers to the platform. The following terms apply:

Eligibility

The Programme is available to all registered users with an active account. You do not need an active paid subscription to share your referral link, but you must have an active paid subscription at the time a reward is due in order to receive it.

Referral Process

Each user receives a unique referral link. When a new user clicks your link and creates an account within 7 days of clicking, they are recorded as your referral. If they subsequently subscribe to a paid plan, the referral is marked as converted.

Referrer Reward

Upon conversion (and after a minimum subscription period as determined by Start Demand, currently 14 days), the referrer receives one free month of premium as an account credit applied to their next renewal invoice. The credit amount equals the referrer's current monthly plan cost for the core subscription only — excluding additional seats, coins, or other extras — and takes into account any active discounts or coupons on the referrer's subscription. For annual subscribers, the credit equals one month's equivalent value (annual price ÷ 12).

Friend Incentive

Referred users who sign up through a valid referral link are eligible for a one-time 50% discount on their first month of any paid plan, applied automatically at checkout.

Limitations & Restrictions

• Rewards are non-transferable and have no cash value
• Self-referrals (referring your own email or account) are prohibited
• The maximum number of referrals per user may be capped at Start Demand's discretion
• Start Demand reserves the right to withhold, revoke, or refuse any referral reward at its sole discretion, including but not limited to cases of suspected fraud, abuse, self-referral, creation of duplicate accounts, use of incentivised traffic, or any other manipulation of the Programme
• Where a reward has already been applied and is subsequently found to be fraudulent, Start Demand may reverse the credit and recover the amount from future invoices

Programme Changes

Start Demand may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Programme at any time with 30 days' notice to active participants. Any referrals already in progress at the time of a change will be honoured under the terms that were in effect when the referral was recorded.
